Ok I am building the Great Auk out of the book. I'm getting ready to glue the 6 and 12in sectional forms onto the bow form and I'm not sure how to proceed. Nick mentions in the book that the top of the bow form must be beveled slightly to accomodate the v shape of the deck at the centerline. What angle of bevel is appropriate? Would you just stick to the angle of the 24" form? Also is it beveled all the way to the tip of the bow at the same angle? Thanks guys.

Glue the 6" and 12" forms to the bow and stern forms at the planned locations. Then, draw a pencil line on the center of the bow and stern forms. Do this by using a drawing compass and draw a line on either side and split the difference. Then use either a spoke shave or small block plane to put a bevel on the form that matches the angle at each of the forms at that point. The deck bevel angle is facile, the hull angle is extreme and takes a while.
