Alan: If all else fails, you can use the stitch and glue method. Drill a small hole in the deck and hull and use wire to pull them together. You would have to stitch and glue some of the rest of the boat to stabilize it while you epoxy the halves together. If you used staples, a couple of more small holes will not be too obvious. Run a bead of epoxy down the outside seam first before you do the inside and it will hold the two together while you do the inside seam.
