Have you thought about a velcro tunnel using waterproof nylon fabric. I have a neo skirt with a fabric tunnel with a large fat velcro and it's my favorite. Every bit as waterproof as my full neo ones and so much easier to put on and you can tighten it to your liking.

Matter of fact, I would make a all nylon for a SOF. I have a SOF but use my normal neo since all my boats are ocean cockpit anyhow. They all leak to some degree if you practice rolls unless it very tight on the boat and you have a top on with a tunnel.
