Strip: Delamination at sheer line

Hi.
It has been about a year sense I glassed the top of my first strip build and I am just now getting around to starting on the inside. I did not trim the excess glass and epoxy at the sheer line so it is hanging down with visqen and tape separating it from the bottom half. The problem I am having is when I try and cut it at the shear line it is de laminating (White crack blister looking) for 1/4” to 1/2” up on the first strip when their is any out word force on the glass. i.e. When you push a razor knife in and then pull it out.
What should I do?
I am thinking I will need to sand threw the glass to the wood before I glass the sheer line seam.

I will try and post pix later.
