I saw a guy who used some kind of commercial floor coating, maybe similar to the epoxy coatings they sell for garages? It seemed a little more elastic than a regular epoxy (which he mentioned he had used successfully, but didn't like that it tended to craze, although it remained waterproof even after crazing). I would think the brand of epoxy used would matter a lot, as well has how tight you're able to stretch the skin to start with.
