Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my questions. With your explanations and the pics, I've got a pretty good handle on what I need to do. I got my sacrificial gasket and contact paper and am ready to go! The only thing that concerns me now, is my hatches are all sharp angles. Guess I'll give it a shot, if it doesn't work, I'll fall back to the plywood method. Like you said, a small investment.
