Meant to add: I wouldn't know, since I don't use printed paper to build boats by. I use plans to make half-form patterns out of doorskin plywood, then use the half-patterns to mark the forms proper to assure symmetry. Dimensional errors are introduced in the reproduction process is why, and any old draftsman who started in the print room knows exactly what I mean. And I don't bother transferring waterlines unless they're part of the designer's datum for set-up.
