Yes john adding the profile to my membership allowed me to post pics. But they are small and dark. What is the ideal pixel count and dpi to post ? rh

I don't know what the ideal is (and I'm no expert, at all..hopefully some wiser folks will add their thoughts here.), but I try to keep two things in mind when sizing pictures for the web:
Image size: The picture shouldn't be 'too' big- viewers may be using monitors set at 1024x768 (pixels) and I don't want the image to be larger than their display. So I usually use 800 pixels wide or something in that neighbourhood.

File size: You don't want the file size to be too large- most forums have a file size limit, and some users may be on slow connections (or be paying for their bandwidth). So a file size in the 50-100k range is my target.

I don't worry about the dpi as long as the image size and file size are in the right range.

A lot of graphics programs will let you re-size your pictures. I use a very simple (free) program called Mihov Image Resizer to do the job. It's a small program which re-sizes images and converts between formats (only). It will do 'batch jobs' if you have a bunch of images to process.
