Maybe some added comments - the pedals are being pushed against and won't move forward due to the retaining strap. Some manufacturers use a sprung loaded pin into the bar to lock the pedal platform. So either "feet and strap" or 'pin", holds the pedal platform stationary.

As the previous message says, the rudder lines can't move through the hole at the top of the pedal because the distance from fore bulkhead (or where ever fastened) to the hinge pin to the top of the pedal DOES NOT CHANGE.

You might also note from this that the rudder line needs to go round a point in-line with the hinge pin, if it doesn't actually use the hinge pin to go round. I had one kayak manufacturer/installer who totally missed that point despite being told numerous times. We had another manufacturer here who tried to design his own system and missed that crucial point.
