My first boat was pitifully bad quality sewing, but didn't take too long.
The spine is relatively easy, probably no faster. It did take several test pieces to understand what was necessary to make it this way.

My priorities:
1. Looks better
2. Easy to build/ control
3. Equal or a little bit longer to build (first time will be slower for sure).

If there is a next boat I am thinking about a single seam down the centerline like a stitched boat, so that I can heavily round the gunwale for a little different look.
