Well it's just a slider ... no big deal to open up the holes a bit. I assume your intention is to have a little friction in the hole.

What I've done is peel back the bungee sheath and trim the rubber half an inch or so and then put the sheath back in place and seal it ... that makes it a little easier to pull through the hole. I've also sewn fishing line through the end of the bungee used that to pull it through the hole. Or my favorite way ... I just poke it through with a small screwdriver.
