: Anyone done anything like this to keep their shop warm?

: Having a carbon monoxide detector would be my first rule for any
: heat source. Just wondering how to bump up temps in an
: uninsulated 20 x 18 x 8' tall space, not to toasty, just
: minimal.

: I could add foam sheet insulation on the walls and ceiling.

I've used small propane heaters in my shops over the years, but never liked them much.
Guess I just never trusted them as they didn't vent outside.

In my old shop at lower elevation / warmer outside temps I used 2 small oil filled electric radiators.
These were ok, but I had to leave them turned on overnight as they were extremely slow to heat a cold room.

Have you considered a small pellet stove ? My current shop is 24' X 24' X 8' tall and I've found that
a pellet stove (convection) is ideal as it heats the room quickly and has a fan. Just fill the
hopper, and turn it on. Insulation is R19 walls / R28 ceiling.

Prior to that in the same shop I used a small Jotul wood stove (radiant) but it took hours to get the room hot enough to work in due to
overnight room temps in the low teens during the winter months. Plus, it's no fun starting / tending to a fire in those
frigid temps.
