: Wow! That's pretty cool! I have always been fascinated with crop
: circles, although I think they are just creative pranks as
: opposed to UFO's. Now they actually have computer programs where
: you can design crop circles or corn mazes and the system works
: with the laser-guidance system on modern tractors.

: The tile on my porch has seen many an epoxy spill, yellow glue,
: paint, etc., etc., and always comes sparkly clean. I just wish
: the guys that built the porch had angled it a few degrees away
: from the house. It kind of slopes the wrong way and pools water
: really bad during storms.
25 years ago in our first house we had a 4'x8' front porch that sloped the wrong way, and pooled water. I pulled the boards that had rotted and put down some 3/4 plywood. Placed some chopped mat glass down and used polyester resin to get a permanent floor. I then placed a scupper in the deepest corner with a drain hose that led to a drain in the basement. My first glassing job.

The amusing part was we had a PITA across the street. He was retired and constantly snooping around and reviewing home improvement projects or anything else he could find.

"Did I evah tell ya I was da bildin inspectah for Kenmore?"

Yah Tom, I'm pretty sure you've mentioned it.

When I started this project he was out there like a shot. He asked what I was doing and I told him "fiberglassing the porch". It was the first time he had not offered some sort of negative response. He watched me several times and never said word, which really surprised me. Until I was putting the finishing touches on the porch and he shuffled up to watch a bit. He rapped his knuckles on the porch floor and said in his low growl "Fiberglass" and smiled.
