Thanks for all that, one last question. Did you keep the same pattern of strips or did you try to put an angle between each layer.
Well another last question. Did you retain the frame so you had the frame and the 3/8" skin?
Last, last - oh well - if you go to 1/8" strips that ends up at 1/4" like many strippers. Why does this allow you to eliminate the glass?

: Next time ... thinner strips ( 2 layers X 1/8"). I plan to use
: more dense spruce or pine on football of layer two with
: more dramatic overlapping technique of strips at keel to bilge. I
: may also laminate with a non epoxy glue to save a few bucks
: while using the epoxy on final coating.

: Then again, I may blow the whole thing off and go straight to cold
