I used pool noodles as floatation for a Gentry Chuckanut SOF that I built last year. While they helped get the boat on the water quickly, I found them troublesome as far as getting as many into the boat as I wanted when bundling together. I ended up stringing short sections together which fits in the boat well but creates a new hazard as one s feet could get tangled in them.

This year I built a Blandford PBK 27 SOF and made some simple float bags using a couple of references on the web. We like the float bags a lot better but be sure to get some HH-66 cement, I tried a couple of PVC cements from the hardware store with poor results first. Also I used clear PVC but I think would use an opaque PVC next time.
