: Has anyone tried masking off the keel and painting it with
: plasi-dip (used to coat tool handles and whatnot)
: It is really durable just not sure if it would adhere to urethane
: coated nylon. Although it sticks to metal just fine.

I've also been looking for ways to protect the keel. Something like Keelguard (http://www.keelguard.com/keelguard.html) for kayaks. I've heard of people trying "leading edge tape" used for aircraft wings (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/cs/tape_leadingedge.html) but haven't tried it myself.
