: Has anyone on the board ever towed an empty single when padding a
: tandem? The single would have no paddler, but semi-packed to
: give it some ballast. I envision simply tying a rope to the
: singles bow, tying it off on my pfd - aft seat in the tandem,
: and off we go. Is it that simple? Mostly curious what might
: happen with following seas - we don't want to get rammed from
: behind.

Contact tow will likely be easier, an unmanned kayak is terrible. Having it in contact with the towing boat means it'll behave some, much better that left alone on the end of a tow rope. Contact tow should be easier on a long boat like a tandem too.
