Here is the update:

After stringing a centerline from an arbitrary point fore and aft of the first and last stations, sure enough (allowing for the difficulties of measuring) the chines were all bowed by 1/8" - 1/4" to port at the center stations. To solve it I ran a loop of rope from the starboard of station 1 below the gunwale across to the port of station 2, down the port side below the gunwale to station 4 and then across to the starboard of station 5 (and then around and back the way it came). After twisting the rope between stations 1 & 2 and stations 4 & 5 I was able to pull it to fairly straight.

I am thinking that I will leave it for the night and tomorrow I will tighten it a bit more and fit a diagonal brace (excess chine material, probably) opposite the diagonal of the rope. When I release the rope I am hoping that the diagonal braces will keep it from collapsing back to its bent shape. Has anyone tried something like this and did it work?

A big thanks to Marc and the ancient one for feeding me the bits that I needed to get to this point (for the record, though, if it comes down to taking this thing apart I'll start over since I built this thing to stay together).
