I've never seen a riving knife on a hand-held saw. A kickback on a hand-held always seemed to lift the blade out of the wood as I recall, so I wonder what the advantage would be. I haven't experienced a kick-back with a hand-held saw for a couple of decades, since I stopped using the blades the manufacturer supplied and used good ones instead, eliminating the need to push too hard. Of course my recollection of one may be a bit rusty since it's a long time ago. I must confess table saws make me nervous.
