: Thanks for sharing. I have wanted to give this stuff a try. I just
: hate being the guinea pig, and lately all the stuff I am
: building are prototypes that get shown off so I don't want to
: risk switching brands and have a prototype come out looking bad.
: Does this stuff wet out clear, or does it have a yellow tint?
: When I say clear I mean like water, and when I say yellow tint,
: I mean even a little. I actually don't mind a little yellow tint
: when I am looking for a warm glow like with the old 207, which
: was very yellow, and I would use it when I wanted a
: "classic" look to the wood. However, I prefer to use a
: clear epoxy and then use varnish if I want to warm up the color
: a little.

The original Super Sap 10/100 has a slightly higher bio content and is more amber (listed as around 7 Gardner). My understanding it does not have the UV blockers of the CLR.

Super Sap CLR is virtually water white (eg clear). In the old product data they listed the mixed color as a one on the Gardner scale. I would call it one of the clearest I've used. It also does not have any of the "brighteners" (just a blue tint) of some resins.

Even though the exterior of "Sally" was painted, I used the clear exclusively, in lieu of the 10/100, in order to see how it would wet out different fabrics. I didn't want to buy two different resin/hardeners. I also knew because it was being painted it was a good test bed if things went south.

Like I said earlier, I was impressed.
