Nice idea but I wonder how well that will work . . . I tried something similar but the shavings just clogged the hose. The 1-1/4" hose just wouldn't hack it and the 2" hose is too unwieldy. However it worked great on a power planer which delivers smaller chips, but there has to be good air flow as the chip volume can be huge. My planer has a vac port on both sides with a plug to close off the unused side; took me a while to realise it worked better without the plug. Most of the vac attachments for hand-held power tools are just for show . . .
