: I'm intrigued by the notion of using something other than a setting
: glue so that the takeoff was quick and the tool reusable - sort
: of a 90 shift from a finger contour gauge.
: - so what if hot glue was used every 4" or so and bring out
: the heat gun. (an idea, but prob not that great for long or for
: quickness or for use in the field)
: - what if a pinching clamp (strong spring or tiny c-clamp) was used
: every 4" or so (maybe heavy or unwieldy but possible if
: right light clamping setup)
: - or slots thru all lams every 4" or so and a threaded stud
: with a threaded knob on top - that might be a possible.
: - maybe thin steel bands with rare earth mags on top every few
: inches - maybe heavy but cool to try

: anyway, ideas

Mick-
A creative mind at work, there!

Try them out and let us know!

BTW, hot melt glue in my hands is pretty messy stuff (and dangerous - I've gotten more than a few small burns when a 'drip' landed on me), but it definitely works well for this kind of work. Gluing sticks together with hot melt glue for fitting bulkheads in S&G boats is one good application.

Cheers
John
