The color would match, but I think they might be too brittle. We want the rub strip to be sacrificial, but not Kamikaze. It should last more than one impact.

Bronze or stainless steel have impact strength, and you can tighten them so they pinch the fabric tightly against the ends of the boat, serving to improve the end sealing.
