: Bill, I have stripped the kayak up and over the chine. I am trying
: to figure out where I actually start along the keel to place the
: keels strips down the length of the kayak. I am guessing where
: pass the DWL or around station 3? This is my first kayak
: build....

I'm also on my first build, a Great Auk, and I'm about at the same place as you. I'm about to run the keel strips, having stripped the hull to the point where the strips are meeting at the bow and stern. After the strips first met at the ends, I ran a couple more strips on the hull, bringing the "Vee" between the strips down toward the end of the interior stem piece. I had a little bit of trouble in this area, and have a few minor gaps, which I think will be mostly covered by the stem piece.
Hope that helps, I could email you a pic if you like.
Sean.
