There isn't any right way to strip the bottom. There are lots of ways that work. Normally if you'll be using strips that run along the keel (actually forming the keel) they run from the V at one end formed by the strips on the sides to the V at the other end. No matter how you do it the ends need to be cut to match the strips already there.
