Off Topic: A vote for an upgraded Forum

Hi all

Kurt recently posted, in remarkably diplomatic terms for a redneck Texan kayak builder, that he would like some of the features of a more modern forum.

Add my vote for upgrading the BBS too.

I *really* appreciate the free access and advice available here, and I am super impressed that it has been operational since 1996! Now that was embracing technology.

But I bet Nick would get more search results, links and casual browsers via a more modern forum (passed through from this address), hosted on on the Guillemot Kayaks website, with a preserved link back to the old forum for searching etc. Forum posts rarely crop up on Google searches whereas, for example, WordPress blog articles with good category and tags attached return very high results, and I bet a more modern forum would similarly increase Google search results for information.

It would also be fun to do stuff like polls, link to multiple photos, link to other sites, edit responses, etc.
