: Canada converted to metric (mostly) quite a while ago, and it's a
: great system - very logical and easy to do conversions. The
: VOLKSKAYAK offsets are metric, and I find them very simple to
: use - much easier than inches, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, etc. I now think
: of mileage, temperature, volume and the like in metric...but...
: Don't make the same mistake that we've made up north - If you're
: gonna go metric, go metric! The troglodytes up here managed to
: partially stall full conversion so they wouldn't have to fire up
: their second brain cell to learn something new, so building
: materials and some other things are still sold in Imperial (but
: often manufactured to metric specs) - and supermarkets are
: selling items using various botched blends of both systems. The
: result is a lot more confusion than if Canada had just had to
: guts to say "Look, it's metric, period - so get over it....
simple like having two languages (sorry just had to and am joking)
