No one is trying to rob anyone of their free choice to use whatever antiquated measuring system they choose. However, there are benefits to a society to adopt norms for measurement, and for that the metric system makes unquestionable sense. Anyone concerned about fine degrees of accuracy need simply to apply a decimal point.
