Ah...at last, an explanation. Long ago I formulated Fitzgerrell's First Law of the Workshop, which reads:" The thing you want next is under the thing you last put down." Before hearing about The Venerable Bede's interest in these things, I never had an explanation for this phenomenon. Evil spirits. Of course. Explains everything. And all along I thought it was just me.
