Strip: hatch braces

I had intended to carve braces for the undersides of the hatches on my stripper, but after reading some comments here about 'Plan B's', I'm reconsidering. I've cut out braces from WRC, with hooks incorporated into the ends. That would work, though the hooks will require FG/epoxy to beef them up.

But some others here indicate they use no braces, and someone noted they simply glue wooden rings for an attachment point at the corners. I've molded a few curved tabs from FG and carbonfiber. they'd be very strong, should look good, and weigh almost nothing.

anyone try this? Can you rely on the hatches not changing shape without bracing.
