Paddle: Thickness on loom-to-blade transition

Hey all,

Took my (first) GP out for a test paddle prior to finishing last weekend, and I noticed that the area of the paddle where the heel of your palm rests felt thick and interfered with the stroke. The loom itself is comfortable, but paddling is a bit uncomfortable compared to other GP's I've tried, regardless of the amound of cant I use.

I know there are typical dimensions for loom & blade length and thickness, but I don't see much about the diamond area where your non-index fingers rest. Anybody know "typical" measurements? I have medium-sized hands.
