That boat, modified Yost Sea Ranger is 19 1/2' long (after scarfing the gunwales I decided I liked the look so just made the stems much longer) and only weighs about 34 lbs. and it's covered with dacron and 6 ounce fiberglass. So...weight isn't an issue, I'll bet that 90% of that coating is water that just evaporates. It though has held up extremely well except for the very tips which are damage prone on any yak. Not sure I'd not use it again because of how well it's held up. Just have to be prepared for a very long coating process. I suspect I'd find a latex primer to use first might make a huge difference in how long it takes to cover.
