I have just finished my Night Heron kit from CLC boats. Figure this 67 year old...total beginner... spent around 350 hours on this booger. Used kit for bottom but went for lots of exotic woods ( Padoouk, Yellow Canary, Wenge, Brazilian Teak, Maple and Walnut for the deck. Also experimented at both ends with veneers that I drew and cut out of rosewood. FIRST (and last) time doing woodworking stuff. Was a blast...but...whew...so much to learn for a beginner. BUT, am very happy with way it came out...very happy. Want to see my pics...send me your email..to 1943druten@everestkc.net I've got a Kodak gallery sets up with the final 13 pics...of boat out in my front yard...then hanging in garage. Someday...uh...maybe it will hit the water in Kansas. I'll send an invite to gallery to anyone who asks. vic in Kansas. Oh, don't look for staple holes...used about a million rolls of painter's tape instead.
