Luckier than me, I've got (or had) a planer and loaned it to the local kayak dealer who says he doesn't have it anymore .

It's what happens when you loan tools. Knowing the kind of mess he's capable of I'm sure I'll get it back eventually when he finds it in the pile of junk it's likely burried under, but perhaps not when I need it.
