Strip: Petrel: Foot Brace Height

CLC Foot Brace generic installation instructions suggest mounting the foot braces 2" below the sheer line. For the Petrel the sheer line at station 7 is about 3 1/2" and even allowing for the foot slant and mounting only 1" below the sheer line (to allow room for taping) the pedal would be in the lower part of my arches.

If I mount them 2" above the sheer line the pedals will be just at the balls of my size 11 feet which is more like what I expected.

So two questions:

1. Where should the foot braces be mounted to provide best comfort?

2. Any problems with mounting the foot braces above the sheer line instead of below it?

Thanks.
