: Thanks for the input!

: I typically use a card scraper to clean up damaged areas, so I was
: able to get the cement out of the damaged area pretty well.

: I'd rather not go with a brass strip or similar graphite setup at
: this point. Underwater hazards are frequent issues here in the
: Northwest, but this is a first boat and I intend to build a new
: one in a few years. I just need this one to continue to be safe
: until I'm ready for the next one. I've got a few folders that I
: want build first.

: The chip brush is a great idea. I've tried the foam brushes before,
: but they actually start to melt before too long.

: I'm also intrigued with the idea of pre-wetting the tape. Cutting
: out a strip out of 6oz cloth might be a bridge to far on this
: project, but I'm going to try the same idea with the tape.

: Thanks again everyone.

I just pre-wet the glass if I'm going to do it that way on a sheet of waxed paper, the wet glass comes up off the paper just fine and won't soak thru the paper and it's easy to dispose of later on. Better than plastic film of most types since it's got the stiffness of paper.
