Actually there is one very good one: automotive urethane. Cars and trucks stay out in the sun for years with little to no degradation these days. There are supposed to be some marine urethanes that are even better (wildly expensive from previous inquires with Dupont). There should be no need to ever recoat the entire boat. For deep scratches, just spot fix them (I like Perfection varnish). Surface ones can be buffed out. Most local body shops like oddball projects once and a while.
