: Bill,
: I received my glass from CLC. After the 2nd coat, the finish is
: smooth to the touch...but the "pattern" of weave
: clearly shows thru. It's not white ...or gray...so I'm pretty
: sure I have the glass thoroughly coated without any dry spots.
: Guess I just wasn't expecting to see the weave pattern AT ALL.
: Just want to know if Seeing The Weave a little is the standard
: look?
: MORE concerned about overlapping. When I do the deck and overlap
: onto the hull...worried about leaving a pretty discernible line
: where the deck glass overlaps the hull glass. Guess I can sand
: with around 80 grit to get it smooth to touch ...before I
: varnish....right?

With the overlap, the glass to start with is pretty thin. Just fill the edge with fill coats. You don't want to sand the edge of the glass or you'll have a white line that's very difficult to remove.

Same thing with the weave, need more fill coats, if you sand into the glass you won't be happy.
