My inlaws bought me a Shop Smith when they came into some money. The only thing I didn't like about it was the table doing the adjustment instead of the blade. For shallow cuts the table is a little too high for me. I did cut the strips for two kayaks with it and had no problems. I love the drill press and horizontal boring feature. I also have a jointer and biscuit cutter for it and both work well. When I got the Shop Smith I gave my father-in-law my table saw and he has since given it back. I still turn to my 10 inch table saw for a lot of projects but am real happy I have the Shop Smith
