Strip: Using an existing boat as a form

Hi All,
Was wondering about the feasability of using an existing hull as a form to lay strips on?
* Would obviously have to protect the existing hull from epoxy and could be tricky seperating the hull from the original.
* Stapleless construction so as not to damage original hull.

Any other pros/cons?

i'm sure that this query has popped up before and will do a detailed search should there be some merit in the idea.
Cheers in advance.
