S&G: EASIEST WAY TO BUILD COMBING

I have decided that I need to enlarge the cockpit of my CLC kit--Artic Hawk--quite a bit.
I ordered the medium sized cockpit. The kit method is a stacked plywood raiser then a one layer lip which is all glassed.
So once I settle on a size shape, what is the easiest way to get 'er built?
Any suggestions about size and shape would also be appreciated.
I took measurement from an impex boat this past weekend it had a keyhole cockpit. I decided I am just not limber enough to get back into a small cockpit.

One of the nice points of making the boat--the hole can be any size shape I want.

Thanks for the help.
