: Most greenland style SOFs I see have fairly flat lines. The Petrel has curved
: upswept bow/stern. How does one go about making sure it keeps this form?
: Is the wood bent/steamed into shape towards the bow/stern?

Saw in about several feet in from the ends of the gunwales, ripping with a thin bandsaw blade several times. Imagine laminating thin strips together, but these thin strips are still attached to the gunwales. Put glue into the kerfs and bend around a form.
