: Most greenland style SOFs I see have fairly flat lines. The Petrel has curved
: upswept bow/stern. How does one go about making sure it keeps this form?
: Is the wood bent/steamed into shape towards the bow/stern?

I don't know the specifics of the Petrel, but the standard method of getting more sheer than the angle of the gunwales creates is by gluing wedges to the ends of the gunwale boards, then shaping them as desired.
