Getting wood is 12" the problem. There are a couple of shops locally that supply hardwood. If I want a 10" or 12" wide, it will be 1x12 by at least 6' if not longer. That will be a minimum of $60!

Can you re-saw a 10" board? I haven't tried, but with a 10" blade on my table saw I can't imagine cutting deeper than 4".

Oh well, I guess these aren't so much as technical problems as they are monetary.
