Hi Doug,
That would work but I was thinking of the laminations being the other way, a stack of 3/4 by 3/4 or 1/2 inch strips. Easier to make/do than three wide 1/4 inch pieces.
This is the method I plan on using on my Shooting Star as I don't have access to a saw big enough.
