In Response To: Strip: Joining (Dave Hawkins)

I used 2 inch tape on the inside seam, I think it was 6 oz. On the outside seam I used 4 oz scraps cut into strips on the bias. The outside worked much better, the bias orientation let the tape drape over the shape much better. The inside was not great, that selvage edge on the tape looks pretty bumpy. If I did it again, I would use scraps cut into strips on the inside also. 4oz. seemed strong enough for me, others might prefer 6 oz.

Good Luck,
Ken

: I'm about to join the deck and hull and was wondering if it is okay to just
: use one layer of 2 inch 6oz glass tape instead of one 2 inch and one 1
: inch layer.

: Thanks
