I wait until i think the epoxy is fully cured and then I wait another week to be sure to be sure as we say here in Ireland where it tends to be cool and often damp.

I also give the varnish a couple of weeks to harden up fully before first launching. But then I have other boats to use while I am waiting. Not always easy to be patient when one has built a new design and one wants to see how it goes. Some varnishes are still good for a chemical bond weeks after an application. I assume that that means they have not yet fully cured or hardened.
