: Thank you everyone!
: I have purchased Nick's books and they are on the way.
: Im really looking forward to focusing on a strip kayak...
: I still have Lilly's lil'Sea Pup to work on in the meantime, so looks like
: you'll see me around for a while.

Nick's book is awesome- my best reference.

Some people take the approach "anything worth engineering is worth over-engineering." They can make a box beam and workstands rise to the workmanship level of fine pianos. I am more jealous of my time, and often go for "solid but not the prettiest" construction. Bjorn Thomasson has a built method that is very fast and effective, simply stapling the strips to the forms and then using epoxy to set them together before fairing. He's also got the most elegant strongback I've ever seen. (Bryan Hansel used this approach on his Iglorrd...Ilgrod...Ilglrdsute... IGGY.) :-)

Bjorn's online build manual is at http://www.thomassondesign.com/building/building_manual/preparations.aspx

Happy paddling!
