S&G: positioning forms for the hull

Wondering it there is a trick for positioning the interior forms for the hull. My kit has 2 bulkheads that will stay in and 5 temporary forms to get the hull into the right shape.
It seemed pretty difficult to get the forms positioned just right. The first one I hot glued into place seems to have more than a little gap. Is there a way to clamp them in place and then hot glue once positioned perfectly?
Thanks---don't want to end up with a boat that goes in circles.

Kit is the Arctic Hawk from CLC
