Thanks, all, for the information. I actually used sinew on my daughter's boat, but it was a more traditional build. I had pretty much already decided on using just glue and sinew or sinew alone, but was just wondering if there was some reason I hadn't considered for something a little "stronger."

I'm about half way through the build process. Gunwales, keel and deck stringer are all in place. Tonight I'll finish out the frame and then do some sanding/filing to smooth out the hard edges a bit. Tomorrow I'll seal it and then Thursday or Friday I'll skin it.

On the water Saturday in time for a nice paddle around DC with some friends.
